Wedding Dress Sneak Peek

I think I'm crazy.  Like the certifiably insane kind of crazy.

About 1 month ago (3 months before my wedding) I decided to crochet my wedding dress.  Fast forward to today (49 days before the wedding) and the dress is...not finished.

Luckily I have two of the most inexplicably quick and hard working hands on this side of the Mississippi.  I have about 2 more feet of skirt to complete (WHY AM I SO TALL?!) and then the fun part of BEADING DETAIL.  And by fun I mean complete and utter tedium.  0_o

Did I mention I'm using FINGERING weight yarn.  It's practically thread.  C'mon Abs...what were you thinking?

Better get my crazy ambitious self back to work.  And by work I mean stare at this dress for about an hour, cry, and then read Game of Thrones until somebody decides to rescue me and do something fun on a Saturday night.

Crochet: Om Shanti Yoga Mat Bag

 I wanted to create a yoga mat bag with lots of texture.

Nailed it.

This functional bag features layer upon layer of shell ruffles worked on top of a single crochet surface stitch which is worked on top of a simple single crochet tube bag.

While it does take some time and dedication it will be  worthwhile to see stitch within stitch within stitch construct this fabulous bag.

It's stitch-ception at its finest.

Crochet: Miss Cosby Sweater

An oversized cardigan inspired by one of America’s greatest T.V. families. This classic cardigan gets a retro touch of Cosby coloring and shaping while still maintaining a contemporary sensibiilty from being constructed in a silky yarn that offers great movement and drape.

Complete with a chain belt, wear this cardigan while  running errands or meeting a good friend for coffee.

This intermediate pattern uses the half-double and herringbone crochet stitch along with some basic shaping techniques.  It's a great design for those crocheters who want to make their first cardigan.
